Skinny Fresh Margarita

I dreamed up the recipe, trying to make a lighter margarita.  I am so pleased with it.  I served it at a party and everyone raved about it.  It is light enough to be able to indulge in more than one.  It’s lighter in calories, but also, lighter in alcohol content.  Try it!

Ingredients:

1 part fresh squeezed lime juice

2 parts orange juice

2 parts gold tequila – use the gold, the white doesn’t impart enough flavor

4 parts Diet Mountain Dew – did you know MD is flavored with orange?  Not lemon or lime, even though it is green colored, its flavor is orange.

To make the drink:

In a blender combine the juices and tequila with ice and blitz.  In a glass with ice, mix equal parts of the blender mixture and Diet Mountain Dew.  Stir and enjoy!

If you use ounces for the “parts” in this recipe, you will end up with about 12 ounces of beverage.  Poured over ice, will produce 2 drinks.

If you are serving a crowd, you can use Cups for the “parts” in this recipe.  You can mix up the juices and tequila ahead of time and keep it in the fridge.  Blend with ice and mix with the Mountain Dew as needed.
